In Conversation With Kelly Behun
Revered for her gallerist eye and offbeat accents, acclaimed New York-based interior designer Kelly Behun debuts her inaugural collection for The Rug Company. Photographed in Behun’s home and celebrating the city she calls home, the collection features three rugs drawing inspiration in both form and colour from Manhattan.
The ever-changing light which peeks through sky scraping midtown and floods Central Park South with cast shadows and an unfailing evening glow is highlighted in both Domus Blush and Domus Grey. The varying pile heights and ribbed wool in this design is reflective of Behun’s comprehensive cosmopolitan point of view.
"When designing this new line for The Rug Company I wanted to be sure the designs and colours could work in a multitude of spaces and contexts, while still maintaining a strong aesthetic point of view.”

Exploring the transitional tones which rest above Manhattan’s skyline at sunset, the fading daytime blues and the arrival of tranquilizing pale pink shades is captured in the masterful silky colour shifts of Eclipse.
